"I say, Captain, do you hear something?"  Peter Pan

This challenge is all about the sounds of Disney.  These are not quotes, but sounds we hear at various places in the park that tell us we are in the Happiest Place in Earth.  This can include but is not limited to:

  • When the foghorn blares and everyone screams as the waves come at Typhoon Lagoon
  • The bells and horns on the vehicles on Main Street
  • Getting pumped during the countdown on Rock N’ Rollercoaster
  • The cannon going off on the sailing ship Columbia.
  • “Welcome Home.” - Various Cast Members
  • Countdown on California Screamin'
  • Mark Twain/Liberty Belle Whistle
  • Snow White singing at the whishing well in Disneyland.
  • Tikis in the Tiki Room waiting area.
  • “Mine. Mine. Mine.”
  • Evil Queen's laugh when you touch the golden apple.
  • Steven Tyler screaming in your ears during take off on Rock N’ Rollercoaster
  • The Morse Code in New Orleans Square
  • Listening to the cars zoom around just outside of Test Track
  • Getting a wake up call from Mickey Mouse.
  • The clock in the façade of Small World every 15 minutes.
  • When Cast Members say goodnight with Mickey Mouse gloves
  • Hearing the screams from the Tower of Terror while on Sunset Blvd.
  • The roar of the Abominable Snowman coming from the Matterhorn.

Hopefully these gave you some ideas.  I'm sure there are tons of other sounds we hear that we love!

Additional Challenge:    Include something burlap or something gingham (any color) and some old book paper.  (I'm obsessed with burlap, black gingham and old book paper right now.)

I think I may have to do a page about DTunes.

Oh hey, thats a cool idea too!  I want to do Typhoon Lagoon but I have to look thru photos and see if something jumps out at me. I still want to do some of the smells layouts.

Reading this you are making me miss DISNEY so darn much..

Guess I will have to pull out some pics and scrap

Dria - I felt the same way when I read it!
I'm going to crop tomorrow!  I can't wait to get some done.  I got a new job and just don't have the time I used too =(
I never thought of the sounds or smells of Disney.  On my next trip it's just one more thing to remember to do!  My little notebook is going to be FULL!  Guess I have to get working on making it!

I finally got a page done for this one and I did not even remember to do the additional challenge. Good grief...and I had gingham paper too. Oh well, I will have to do a few more for this challenge anyway :)

Nice!  I love scrapping the bright colors of Toon Town, and I hadn't even thought of all the fun noises and crazy sounds back there.  DH loves the musical sounds that come out of the Mickey Symphony fountain out in front of his house.  Maybe I should do that one!  Again -- you are a source of inspiration!

What a great challenge.  I can think of so many ways to do this challenge, unfortunately I don't think I have any pictures that would work.  I'm gonna have to remember this for the next time we go.  It will give me something new to photograph too.  Great idea!

I love this page!

This layout is sooo adorable! Love it! Love all your pretty embellishments!

Too bad there's not a cheap and easy way to capture those sound bites and add them to our layouts. Wouldn't that just be the best!
